Meta seeks a highly motivated team player to serve as Associate General Counsel for Meta Financial Technologies. Meta Financial Technologies is a product group focused on building products that help people and businesses connect to the digital economy and access the financial services they need. You will advise the company on regulatory requirements, advise risk management functions, and help develop the company’s legal position and strategy on regulatory matters in EMEA. Responsibilities

• Advise on country-specific regulatory requirements, including strategic and legal advice for new products or features

• Lead regulatory operational processes in EMEA and other target international markets

• Support Policy team on strategic engagements with regulatory and legislative stakeholders

• Monitor new laws and regulations, including advising business on their potential impact to product development

• Advise risk management functions such as Compliance, Enterprise Risk, Security, Anti-Fraud and Law Enforcement

• Advise senior management on day-to-day operational issues and coordinate with subject matter experts within the legal team to advise on any such issues

• Support Boards of Directors and Corporate Governance functions in region

• Manage outside counsel advising on regulatory and related issues

• Collaborate with subject matter experts within the legal team to ensure comprehensive and consistent legal risk mitigation strategies.

Minimum Qualifications

• Solicitor or barrister (qualified to practice law in at least one European jurisdiction or UK) with 8+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm, government, and/or in-house experience with internet or technology companies working on payments

• A demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced hard working environment and to make sound judgments and smart decisions enabling the completion of several simultaneous projects to tight deadlines.

• Knowledge of, and experience advising clients on, regulatory frameworks related to financial services and/or technology platforms..

• Excellent problem-solving, written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

• Flexibility and eagerness to work on a broad range of legal matters.

• Ability to find practical and creative solutions and provide concise and business-focused legal advice

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in payments and/or financial services.

• Experience working with a wide range of regulatory bodies.

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment and navigating a large organization.

• Demonstrated capability in legal judgment and strategic thinking, along with experience working independently and cross-functionally.
